Trigger for Funnels: By Product/Category in the Cart
Trigger funnels based on the products and categories a customer has in their cart.
One of the most requested features we’ve received is the ability to trigger funnels based on the products and categories a customer has in their cart. This new option helps merchants increase Average Order Value (AOV) and drive more revenue by showing the right message at the right moment.
As part of our mission to help you maximize conversions and deliver a personalized shopping experience, we’re excited to introduce: Trigger Funnels by Product/Category in the Cart.
What does this feature do?
Funnels are a proven way to convert more visitors into customers. With this new trigger, you can now display funnels depending on the specific product or product category in a customer’s cart.
This means you can deliver more relevant, targeted messages during the buying journey, boosting both conversions and customer satisfaction.
How it works
- You can set up this new trigger directly in your funnel settings:
- Go to the Funnel section →

- Funnel Settings

- Targeting →

- Enable the feature “By product in the cart” →

- Enable the feature “By product in the cart” →
- At least one condition is met.
- All conditions are met.Choose how the funnel should trigger →

- Select the Category or Product to target →
- Define the trigger behavior →
- Matches exactly (the exact name).
- Contains the text (partial match).

Example use cases
Here are just a couple of ways you can take advantage of this feature:
- Upselling a related product: If a customer adds running shoes to their cart, trigger a pop-up offering a discount on socks or insoles.
- Highlighting shipping benefits: If a customer adds large or bulky items (like furniture), trigger a banner reminding them about free delivery or special shipping options.
